Dental Extractions

A dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket in the bone.

When do you need a Dental Extraction

A dental extraction is required in the case of excessive tooth decay, tooth infection, crowding, periodontal disease or dental trauma associated with tooth ache. Extractions are sometimes also needed before getting braces to make room for other teeth as they shift into place.

The Smile Spa Approach to Dental Extractions

Our Dental Extractions are a relatively quick outpatient procedure administered with local, general, intravenous anaesthesia or a combination of the same. At The Smile Spa, besides simple extractions, we also undertake surgical dental extractions for teeth that are broken, below the surface, or impacted.

The team at The Smile Spa is trained to make patients feel at ease and find the procedure largely pain free with minimal discomfort. This extraction can be done through a simple or surgical extraction.

FAQ’s

  • Q.1. Is there a risk involved in tooth extraction?

The procedure of dental extraction is usually very safe and our dentists focus on making you comfortable and at ease.

  • Q.2. How do you clean your mouth after a tooth extraction?

It is advisable that you don't brush or rinse the mouth in the first 24 hours after the tooth extraction procedure. Thereafter, you can use salt and warm water to gently rinse around the socket to clean and heal the area.
